Delightful randos, loitering, and pizza
Made it to Rome! Having language difficulties = this trip finally feels real!
Chris tried to ask a stranger about a train transfer in his best broken Italian. Turned out to be an American mathematician from Kansas City, his Italian mathematician wife, and their Parisian toddler who is really into jumping and her brand new Minnie Mouse roller suitcase🤗. They teach at a university in Paris. They were wonderful, happened to be going a couple blocks away from where we were staying, showed us to our AirBnB, and provided us with awesome food recommendations. I stood outside with the bags while Chris picked up lunch from this adorable local shop, per their recommendation, where families were picking up their Christmas bread orders and patrons were all known by name.
And then, we proceeded to loiter in front of our AirBnB and eat our pizza until it was time to check-in
